Terming as “ridiculous” the statement of Art of Living (AOL) founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Hurriyat Conference (G) today said, “his remarks on ongoing freedom movement in Kashmir are far from reality.”
“His remarks regarding the present freedom movement and resistance leadership are baseless and illogical. We advise Ravi Shankar to go through the history and equip himself with the facts and then comment,” a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) in a statement today, said.
“It is easy to gain applause and appreciation from those rejected by people. This deceitful rhetoric has no takers in the Kashmir,” he said.
Referring to the statement regarding the type of freedom, the spokesman said, “before asking this question, he should have gone through the pages of history and resolutions of United Nations and promises made by his own political stalwarts, testified by the global forums where more than 18 resolutions stand testimony to the sacred cause, we pursue.”
“It is not the matter of peace and development, rather an issue of life and death related to the basic rights of the people belonging to all parts of state,” he said.
“Ravi Shankar should muster courage to face those blinded, maimed, crippled and caged by the government forces using the smoke screen of green clad Mufti regime and he will definitely read only the slogan of freedom from every body’s face,” the spokesman said.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik termed the allegations levelled by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as “absurd and part of false Indian propaganda” against the resistance leaders, camp and the people of J&K.
In a statement Malik said that “all religions and spiritual institutions teach us how to make distinction between truth and falsehood and always side with the truth, but Sri Sri by issuing statements against oppressed people of J&K has actually ignored the very teachings of religion and exposed himself and his credentials.”
He said that Sri Sri should look deep into the teachings of the very religion “under the guise of which he is trying to malign the oppressed and glorify the oppressors."
The front chief said that according to Hindu faith during the battle of Mahabharat, when Pandawa brothers especially Arjun refused to fight against Korvas sighting his kinship ties with them, Lord Krishna told him that this was a battle between truth and falsehood not a family dispute and this battle cannot come to its logical conclusion until the final victory of the truth.
“Sri Sri should remember the historic quote of Krishna Jee that too has been quoted in Hindu religious books that whenever and wherever there will be tyranny and in this world, forces of truth and justice will come and fight against the oppressors and defeat the oppressor and that he will always side with the forces of truth and justice,” he said.
“Struggle for freedom in Jammu Kashmir is also a battle between truth and falsehood, the oppressor and the oppressed, and Kashmiris in this battle represent truth and justice and are fighting against the Indian falsehood and oppression while giving sacrifices in this battle,” he said.
“Sri Sri has turned a blind eye on recent killings by Indian forces; he is not able to feel the pain of thousands of those who have been injured by Indian bullets and pellets. He is also unable to feel any shame on mass blinding of Kashmiris by Indian forces during last 135 days and is also unaware of agony that ten thousand innocent youth are going through in Indian jails and incarceration centers,” Malik added.
Terming the statements of Sri Ravi Shankar as far from reality, the Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) general secretary Nahida Nasreen today said, “The people of Kashmir are giving sacrifices only to get freedom from India and become a part of Pakistan.”
“People like Ravi Shankar should understand that a nation which has sacrificed more than one lakh people for freedom from India and merger with Pakistan don’t need lessons from those who are collaborators of state terrorism. Peace in Jammu and Kashmir is only possible when the last Indian soldier leaves Kashmir,” Nasreen in a statement today, said
